Nate Kindig, M.A., LSSP, LPA
Nate has spent a decade helping families become advocates for their children’s education. He has used clinical assessment, counseling, and consultation to foster understanding and hope for parents and teachers when students face challenges in school and at home.
Nate received his B.S. in Psychology from Davidson College in North Carolina, where he helped design, implement, and evaluate interventions supporting language, literacy, and math development for Spanish-speaking parents of bilingual kindergarteners. After college, Nate worked as a guidance counselor in the Dominican Republic, consulting with educators and families across cultures to plan for the best outcomes for students.
Nate earned his M.A. in School Psychology at Trinity University, where he was awarded the Gela Grote West School Psychology Award for excellence in psychological assessment and mastery of theory and application. He has used his excellent assessment skills while working with teachers, parents, and administrators to find the most effective interventions for students. In schools, he has been appointed to lead assessment teams with school psychologists, diagnosticians, and speech-language pathologists. Nate has also supervised graduate students in the field. He has provided quality assurance and guidance for team members through difficult situations, ensuring that everyone on the team learns well together.
Nate has also worked directly with children and young adults in the private setting, where he works directly with families through the clinical model of assessment. He uses his sharp clinical skills and his patience to provide data-driven recommendations in a manner that his audience can clearly understand and act upon.
Nate is newly married to his husband Sam, and they love to go to the dog park with their two dogs, try new restaurants, walk along the Riverwalk, and sing Selena out of tune together.
